Okno is a rural residential village located in the Municipality of Bifrost-Riverton, about 18 km north of Arborg or 130 km north of WInnipeg.

The Municipality of Bifrost-Riverton is a manufacturing node, taking advantage of an innovative, productive workforce and easy access to markets across North America.

Local manufacturers include Vidir Solutions, Diemo Machine Works, Spruce Wood Loggers, Pine View Buildings, and Romafa Metal Works. These companies provide stable, rewarding employment for hundreds of workers and are known to generously support community projects.

In addition, the local economy is agricultural. From soybean, canola, and wheat crops to livestock such as beef and pork, farming provides careers and anchors the district.

The Municipality of Bifrost-Riverton provides countless opportunities for outdoor recreation. From the forested gravel pits near Okno featuring ATV trails, to the beaches of Lake Winnipeg only 20 minutes away, there are many ways to enjoy the outdoors in every season.
