Numerous signs have been installed in Okno recently reflecting changes and an emphasis on safety.

First, "all-way" stop signs have been installed at most intersections. These not only promote safety, but also help slow down the traffic in the village.

Talking about slowing down, you'll also find new signs posting a speed limit of 30 km/h. There are lots of children playing and families walking in Okno, so driving safely ensures an enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.

One change long-time residents will notice is the name of the middle east-west street. Previously it was called "Lilac Drive," similar to the north-south drive. Due to the confusion it was causing, the Okno Community Committee successfully requested a name change to "Willow Street."

Now all east-west roads are called streets and the north-south ones are drives. See map at the end of this post.

The roads in the new east-end subdivision are now also named: Cedar Drive and Pine Street.

And, lastly, a new directional sign on the PR 326 at Road 10E points visitors toward Okno.

Here is an updated map of Okno:
